Australia Day Flag Raising Ceremony

The Australia Day Flag Raising Ceremony is an opportunity to celebrate and build community pride in our nation.

On Sunday 26 January 2014, thousands gathered at South Bank's Cultural Forecourt to witness the traditional 21 gun salute and RAAF flypast as part of the Australia Day Festival

The ceremony, attended by the Governor of Queensland, Premier of Queensland and Lord Mayor of Brisbane, provided invited guests and public the opportunity to unite in a celebration of the Australian spirit, while witnessing a unique display of the Australian Defence Force and its importance in Australia.

Australia Day activities in Queensland are proudly supported by the Queensland Government and assisted by the Australian Government through the National Australia Day Council.
