Great Australian Bites
Great Australian Bites took over the Cultural Forecourt at South Bank on Friday 24 January in celebration of the true modern day Aussie BBQ.
Guests enjoyed a unique culinary experience with live cooking stations and a menu showcasing some of Queensland's finest produce and food from cultures from all over the world.
LICK! Icecream created two special edition flavours in honour of the event - lamington, and mango with white chocolate and macadamia.
Special guests at the event included 2013 MasterChef runner-up Lynton Tapp, who took to the stage to share his passion for cooking with great Australian produce, as well as David Pugh, owver and head chef at Brisbane's own Restaurant Two, and Queensland food consultant Alison Alexander.
The 2014 Australia Post Legends of Cooking showcase was a highlight of the evening, as well as the IKEA Build it Better challenge, which saw guests competing in a tag team allen key race.
Guests also learnt new and easy recipes to recreate their own 'BBQ with a twist'. These recipes are now available for everyone and can be found on the Making Food Fun website.
