Great Australian Bites

Australia Day was celebrated across Queensland on 26 January as communities in Airlie Beach, BundabergRockhampton, Townsville and Warwick came together to enjoy food, fun and festivities at Great Australian Bites. Unfortunately the planned event for Hope Vale was cancelled due to adverse weather.

Regional hubs came to life as local chefs served up delectable tasting plates, showcasing the very best of Queensland produce and home-grown artists hit the stage, delivering toe-tapping entertainment for all.

Australia Day activities in Queensland are proudly supported by the Queensland Government in partnership with the Australian Government through the National Australia Day Council.

Great Australian Bites was delivered in partnership with Bundaberg Regional Council, Hope Vale Aboriginal Shire Council, Rockhampton Regional Council, Southern Downs Regional Council, Townsville City Council and Whitsunday Regional Council.
