Great Australian Bites - Longreach

Locals came together to celebrate Australia Day at the Australian Stockman’s Hall of Fame as Longreach hosted Great Australian Bites for the second year in a row.

The popular food and music festival showcased delicious treats served up by local chefs from Harry’s Restaurant, Watt’s Catering and the Jumbuck Motel Outback Restaurant.

The day was jam-packed with music performances from the Longreach Town Band, Central West Music Makers, John Hawkes, Tane Beatty-Smith and Steve Jay, and for those feeling more energetic, there was a free jumping castle, mini golf and ball games.

One of the highlights of the day was the “Aussie Challenge” where competitors took on a range of Australian-themed activities including rolling a swag, eating dry weet-bix and athletic tasks such as lifting and running.
