Great Australian Bites

River Quay, South Bank Parklands, Brisbane
Saturday 23 to Tuesday 26 January 2016

Crowds filled South Bank Parkland’s River Quay as it came to life with music, food and fireworks for the 2016 Great Australian Bites event in celebration of Australia Day.

Local culinary leaders, Aquitaine Brasserie, Cove Bar & Dining, Popolo and The Jetty, showcased quality Queensland ingredients with a variety of taster plates and drinks in pop-up food stalls.

Local musicians including Bobby Alu, Stonefox, Sahara Beck and Andrew Morris, took to the stage across the four days adding to an exciting program of live performances and creating the perfect soundtrack to a relaxing afternoon along the river.

Located on the breezy River Quay Green, Great Australian Bites was also the ideal vantage point for the spectacular fireworks display that lit up the Brisbane city skyline on the evening of Australia Day.

In addition to Brisbane, Airlie Beach and Port Douglas also enjoyed the Great Australian Bites experience, highlighting the local produce, culinary and musical talent of these regions.
