Great Australian Bites - Cairns

Australia Day was enjoyed in Cairns as the area hosted its first Great Australian Bites event.

Locals gathered on 26 January to enjoy an exciting line up of entertainment and live music, featuring home-grown artists Stone Alley and Bobby Maguire. The morning opened with a Connecting Ancient Cultures performance by CADCAI Lions and MINJIL Indigenous dancers.

Pop-up food stalls from The Pier Shopping Centre served up delectable tasting plates, showcasing the region’s local produce. A Vegemite finger painting competition was held throughout the day, which was thoroughly entertaining for all attendees.

Great Australian Bites in Cairns was presented by the Queensland Government in partnership with Cairns Regional Council and the National Australia Day Council and proudly supported by Hit 103.5.
